A Life Collected: The Curious World of Alice Huynh
Insights into the cozy, curious world of Alice Huynh
In a world shaped by speed and transience, Alice invites us to slow down. The full-time travel and food content creator living in Berlin exists at the intersection of curiosity, nostalgia, and creativity. Her home, just like her digital presence, is a carefully curated cabinet of memories—each object a story, each ritual a grounding force.
In this conversation, Alice talks about the beauty of the everyday, the emotional resonance of objects, and why coziness is not just comfort but also a creative catalyst. From ceramic crocodiles to the scent of sizzling garlic, she reveals the quiet joys that shape her days—and the deep intention behind the things she surrounds herself with.

Q&A (LL: Les Lunes, AH: Alice Huynh)
LL: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
AH: I’m Alice, and I work full-time as a travel and food content creator in Berlin.
LL: What kind of things do you like to collect and surround yourself with?
AH: I love everyday things—some might call them clutter or even trash—but I love collecting objects that have personal meaning and memories. Whether it’s an old birthday card, a stone I found on the beach during my travels, stamps, ceramics, or even a movie ticket—everything in my apartment has a place and is connected to a memory or feeling for me.
LL: What’s the strangest thing you’ve collected, and what story does it tell?
AH: I think it’s my collection of hand-shaped objects! I love hands, so I collect posters, ceramics, sculptures, and artworks that depict them. That might sound strange to some, I guess!

LL: What’s a habit that brings you joy every day?
AH: I always enjoy a good cup of oolong tea!
LL: What’s the craziest but most delicious thing you’ve ever made or tasted?
AH: Do I have to pick just one? ;) There are so many delicious flavors and dishes out there!
LL: If you could only keep three items from your collection, which would they be and why?
AH: I think I’d choose my Noguchi 24N lamp, a handmade ceramic crocodile by a Mexican artist, and a stone with hand-carved details. These items bring me joy not only through their appearance but also through the light, warmth, and calm they radiate.
LL: If Berlin were a person, what traits would they have?
AH: They would be an optimistic person who, despite the ongoing disasters in the world, stands up for the good.

LL: If you could bottle a perfect moment from your everyday life, what would it be?
AH: The feeling right after a shower when you get cozy in bed after a long day.
LL: How does your environment influence your creativity?
AH: When I make my home as cozy as possible and fill it with things I love that remind me of my travels and loved ones, it becomes a space that feels like a huge canvas of possibilities. Surrounding myself with the things that make me who I am strengthens both my mind and soul and helps me create more—more moments, more memories, more art.
LL: When you look around your house, is there one thing that always makes you smile?
AH: The little quirky details in the house: a bell shaped like a turtle, the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro, a huge ostrich egg, a basket shaped like a chicken... all these things remind me to stay curious and nurture my inner child even as an adult.
LL: Is there a particular smell or sound that instantly makes you feel at home?
AH: The smell of fried onions and garlic just tossed into a hot pan. I grew up in a restaurant, so this smell is very familiar and one of the most comforting scents ever.
LL: What’s a small ritual you can’t go a day without?
AH: I like to start my day with journaling and a hot cup of tea!
