Inspired By The Heart Of Three Cities
We have positioned ourselves at the epicenter of three sister cities, each of which are leaders in shaping the future of the world. Each Les Lunes element resonates with the strong fashion heritage of Paris, the motion and innovation of San Francisco, and the craftsmanship of our privately owned workshop in Shanghai. Linked by passion and drive, each culture works together to integrate and celebrate a world of differences. With each branch of the company coming together as a family, we espouse respect and honor for the people and the environment.
The streets of Paris are the beating heart of timeless French elegance. Long known as the “Fashion Capital of the World”, Paris has been attracting the world’s foremost designers for more than three centuries. Home to the oldest fashion and design school in the world, Esmod teaches exclusive and patented methods of pattern making. Founded in 1841 by Alexis Lavigne, the master tailor to the Empress Eugenie, his methods are still being taught today. Melanie Viallon, our “Queen of What” and chief designer, uses these pattern making techniques in her creations, and this is how we are able to get Les Lunes garments to fit you perfectly. The Les Lunes design and product development artisan studio is located in the midst of this city's vibrant energy where fashion has ruled for centuries, and it is there we can craft authentically enduring elements that will weather passing trends. With this vision, we strive towards our goal of providing women with a versatile, classic wardrobe.
San Francisco is a city that defines the entrepreneurial spirit; it is the hot bed of sustainability and a blooming corporate etiquette that puts people first. Innovation, ethical commerce and balancing a healthy lifestyle are at the core of the San Francisco business community. In the heart of the city there is a dynamic network of stylish, professional women on the go. Our local customer research office invites these strong women to private consultations, each fit for the Queen; this way each of our pieces are tailored to real women. We ask them to share the details of their lives, and how they move through the day from beginning to end. By listening to their stories we are better able to understand how to support them with Parisian Flair and Soft Essentials.
Shanghai, also known as the “Pearl of the Orient”, is filled with hard working people looking to create a better life for themselves and their families. Our founder Anna Lecat worked in Shanghai for many years so it was only natural that when she discovered the soft supple cloth being made from the Bamboo groves near Shanghai that she would invest in an artisan workshop here. The Les Lunes French design team works closely in partnership with the seamstresses to ensure garments of high quality. It takes great skill to sew the bamboo fabrics. We take the time to instruct our seamstresses and encourage them to participate in all aspects of the process, so each piece is tailored with artistry and the pride of ownership. Operating with the best Western practices in mind, our seamstresses are paid a higher than average wage and encouraged to spend time with their families. Our focus is on quality, and we believe that you get out what you put in. When you put on a Les Lunes essential you are going to feel good, because the energy that went in to it was positive from beginning to end.
